Nvidia and SK Hynix Forge Deep Tech Alliance to Power Next-Gen AI Infrastructure
To secure the hardware backbone of the global AI boom, Nvidia and SK Hynix have unveiled a comprehensive, multi-year technology partnership. Moving beyond a traditional supplier-buyer dynamic, the alliance focuses on co-developing next-generation memory architectures tailored specifically for Nvidia’s future computing platforms.
Strategic Hardware Integration
SK Hynix will engineer advanced memory solutions for Nvidia’s upcoming roadmap, including the Vera Rubin AI supercomputers, Vera CPUs, RTX Spark-powered PCs, and Jetson Thor robotics platforms. This collaboration allows SK Hynix to deeply integrate into Nvidia’s expanding ecosystem, covering foundational AI infrastructure, personal AI, and physical AI.
AI-Driven Semiconductor Manufacturing
The partnership also targets the chipmaking process itself. The companies will deploy Nvidia’s CUDA-X libraries and PhysicsNeMo framework to accelerate semiconductor simulations and optimize engineering workflows, effectively using AI to design and manufacture the next generation of AI hardware.
Global Tech Insight
This alliance highlights a critical shift in the AI hardware landscape. As memory bandwidth increasingly becomes the primary bottleneck in AI training and inference, Nvidia is locking in its memory supply chain at the architectural level. Simultaneously, the push to apply AI to chip design reflects the industry’s broader pivot toward using advanced compute to build future compute.
